I know I get a lot of spam from Canada regarding Cialis, Viagra and other drugs and have often wondered about their purity. Here's some info about one,:

Canadians should avoid unlicensed drugs that claim to improve sexual performance because they could cause problems such as loss of consciousness, prolonged erections and chest pain, the health ministry said on Friday.

Health Canada issued the warning in a release about a product called Desire, which was found to contain the prescription drug phentolamine -- something not indicated on the label.

"Health Canada advises consumers not to use Desire or any other unauthorized products promoted to increase sexual performance that are advertised as 'all natural', as such products may contain undeclared prescription drugs that may pose serious risks to health," it said in a statement.

Phentolamine is used in the prevention and control of high blood pressure in patients with adrenal tumors.

"Use of phentolamine by patients with heart disease can potentially result in serious cardiac side-effects such as low blood pressure, chest pain and abnormal heartbeat," said Health Canada.

"Other side-effects may include dizziness, loss of consciousness, prolonged erection, headache, flushing, nasal congestion, indigestion and abdominal pain."

Health Canada said it was taking steps to ensure Desire -- which it said could be on sale across Canada and over the Internet -- was removed from the marketplace.

Some men taking drugs for erectile dysfunction may experience prolonged erections that last four hours or longer (priapism). This can cause serious damage to the penis, and requires emergency medical attention.

The problem may be greater when men are taking erectile drugs without a prescription and possibly a too large dosage.

I agree with daka 1 on this subject. Misuse of any prescribed drug can do harm and the use of an unprescribed drug can do more harm. These drugs were actually invented to help with flow of the blood to the heart but the side effect was to help treat men with erictile dysfunction. I am fortunate enough that I am not yet at the age, or condition which I need to take these drugs but when I am I will follow the doctors directions. I do not know, exactly, what priapsim is but I would imagine that it would cause the capalaireis in the penis to burst there by rendering the person unable to ever achieve and erection without an implant. That is a place I do not want to have to go. I know that men who have had to under go prostate gland removal, due to cancer, must have an implant to achieve an erection.

Sorry, I had a look through some articles about priapism and see that it's not a joke, though can seem funny for somebody (especially for those who have an opposite disease))). Some doctors say it can lead even to gangrene...brrr!

Hey Paul, I was wondering about the unprescribed drugs that are over the counter for sex improvement for men and women. I have never had to take anything for being sexually aroused because most of the time; I'm that way anyway. I have seen many different drugs over the counter for women as well. I was curious if that same ingredient of drug was in those too.

Kotikkk,no I have never been told that. I am very glad that I have a good sexual drive. I guess I am very lucky.

I think other women would never confess to your superiority, and men just don't hit upon it.

Lonelitude, thanks sweetie for the compliment. Although,I don't think myself to be superior to anyone else at all. I'm just being myself; and I am just one of those lucky and blessed people that has a strong sex drive without taking all kinds of meds. I pretty much have had a strong sex drive ever since I was a teenager.
