Forum - Has anybody heard of A Plus Entertainment?

This guy David from a company called A Plus Entertainment gave me a call back when I was calling a shit ton of sites to apply as a male stripper in the Detroit area. It was a private number, he explained that because I have no experience I should try escorting. I told him alright what's the deal, he gave me his personal phone number, and his personal email address, and told me to email him some photos. About 4 hrs later, I called him back because Im desperately in need of work right now. He answered and explained to me that his service charges 200 per hour and 100 per hour after that. I collect the money and all I have to do is pay the company 100 dollars. I thought this was a great deal, till he told me that I had to deposit 100 dollars into his bank account in order to get a call out to me. I got a little bit suspicious and searching on ripoffreport.com I found a company with a similiar name based out of the UK that had been taking payments but not sending entertainers out. I called him back and told him about it, and he just got off the phone with me and told me he's going to check it out. There is no professional website, just an ad on www.yellowpages.com (866) 425-2372 and it says its hiring new applicants. Has anybody heard of A Plus Entertainment? Is this a scam? Im new to being an escort so I have no idea if this is how it works or not...

Why would you pay anyone to work for them it doesnt work that way if you want to be a male stripper see if you can get 4 guys to join up with you, do small revues at bars etc till you get a following you can also get on with the million dollar men revue if you can get a couple guys to work with you they have a web site just google it. They will book places for you .
Get some business cards made up you can do birthdays and bachelorlette parties I have a male friend here that does that makes good money doing those and revues at bars. Good luck to you.

hmmm... deposit a 100 dollars first? Smells fishy to me. Why a serious company needs someone whom it wants to hire to deposit money first? And, of course, they are sure, you won't report this issue to the police. And if they are a startup, they should be especially willing to cooperate with you, cause they have got no name in the industry so far. So it is you, who give them a favor by accepting their proposal to work for them.

Another idea. Try calling their number listed in yellow pages and booking a male escort. If they tell that they have got no providers available yet and that they only hiring at the time being, it will confirm that you are likely to be conned.

Well its about 7pm Eastern time right now. I did some research and a few male escort services I spoke to said yes sometimes they take deposits in advance to insure they get paid.

I wired this guy David the money a couple of hours ago, then called him about the work, he said hed call me back. An hour later at 6pm I called and left kind of a mean message about him being a scam. He just called me back kind of pissed and said I can cancel the wire if I want he doesnt need me, hes busy right now and will pick up the money in an hour, then he'll call me with a job. I told him I would wait. Right now my fingers are crossed, if this works out, I'll be very very happy!

I'd be extremely worried and skeptical about this. You're supposed to pay him $100 so he can send you, an inexperienced guy who has never done this before out to God knows where to do God knows what with no instruction? Exactly what are you getting out of the $100?

Even if it is legit, do you really want to work for a guy with an attitude? Sounds fishy to me, but good luck.

Well, I think u guys were all completely right, and I feel foolish. I called western union, and they said around 8pm the money was taken. He won't answer his cell phone. Luckily I have reverse cell phone finder, and I can get his exact location anytime he uses it. Unluckily I don't have any money to go out to CA and do anything about it. To all who are interested in working for an agency, on www.yellowpages.com, yahoo yellowpages, and aol yellowpages, A Plus entertainment is a scam. Lord knows if he'll ever answer or call me with work, Im going to keep on trying, but in a few days Im going to report him to BBB and contact yahoo, aol, and yellowpages and let them know that his ad is a scam. Beware everyone, I'll keep you guys posted.
