In Canada, you can talk frankly and explicitly to her so long as the conversation is conducted in a "private place",
not a public place. Be sure you understand the legal definition of a public place which is anywhere the public has a right of access. It specifically includes automobiles (because the law was designed to control street prostitution.). In the situation you describe, a telephone call or email would be private (and they are not a "place".)
Now you still have to ensure that the communication is private to BOTH parties. If you talk to an escort from a cell phone on a street within earshot of a (possibly undercover) LE officer, your conversation is not private. Likewise if you use your company's email system to exchange emails with an escort, you likely do not have a right to privacy for your emails.

This is still difficult. Because undercover LE would present themselves as a potential client, and ask the same kind of explicit questions. Many escorts are themselves not as familiar with the law as they should be, and so they err on the side of caution.

I have two suggestions for Canadian escorts and hobbyists. (This does not apply to any other legal jurisdiction.) When contacting an independent escort that advertises on the internet ... the first is to ask in an unblocked telephone call from a private residence or hotel room. The second is to ask using an encrypted email service. Don't be offended if she chooses not to answer. That's her prerogative.

You make sure that any communication is conducted in a private place. Now, you may still be arrested because LE will charge you with everything they can think of ... all they need is one charge to stick. But they would not be able to make the case for soliciting in a public place.
